Freedom Of Speech

Description

Epictetus, a Greek philosopher, more than almost 2,000 years ago, was already against the "political correctness" - a contemporary term -, the "do-gooders" who were giving lessons to others about their behaviour and what they were saying.

In my opinion, political correctness threatens our freedom of speech. So many people - politicians, medias, ordinary ones - do not bear those who do not express themselves like they should do, do not endure any discussions contrary to the political correctness. In other words, they are not bearing people who do not think and behave like they do themselves.

I think what we call political correctness today would be a part of what our parents should have taught us as common courtesy.  I love to stir things up and be rude on occasion and I have a right to be offensive, however on the other hand, when I offend good people because of my stupidity, what does that make me?  Also, everyone should eat hot dogs with chopped onions, sauerkraut, and horseradish at least several times a week.
